Heroic viticulture emerges in demanding conditions where human work prevails over machines. In Tuscany, among unique terroirs and family traditions, wine becomes a living dialogue between land, climate, and people.

Podere della Bruciata – Where We Begin.

A heroic vineyard is one cultivated in demanding conditions—steep slopes, stony soils, exposed hillsides—where vineyards are shaped by human hands more than machines. These are places where wine is not an industrial product, but a living dialogue between land, climate, and the people who care for it.

In this world, Tuscany is more than a postcard. It is a mosaic of micro-terroirs, ancient villages, forgotten varieties, and families who have been working the same rows of vines for generations. It is also where our journey begins.

Artisan Heroique Italia was born with a simple conviction: if we want to lead wine lovers through the most authentic corners of Italy, we must start from a place we know deeply and personally. For us, that place is Tuscany—and, more specifically, two estates that anchor our entire vision.

Iconic Tuscany hides a more fragile, authentic reality: small farms, manual work, and vineyards at risk. This human and resilient dimension is what we choose to represent, through Podere della Bruciata and Tenuta di Torriolo.

We Begin in Tuscany because

We Begin in Tuscany because is where many wine lovers first fall in love with Italy. Chianti, Brunello, Vino Nobile, coastal Vermentino, Supertuscans: these names are familiar. Yet behind the famous labels lies another Tuscany—smaller, more fragile, more human.

It is a Tuscany made of: families who farm by hand and refuse shortcuts, small cellars where fermentations are guided, not engineered, vineyards at risk of disappearing if there is no market for honest, small-scale wine. This is the Tuscany we choose to represent. And within it, two estates stand at the core of our club’s identity: Podere della Bruciata and Tenuta di Torriolo, the heart of ARGO VINI 1865.

In the heart of Montepulciano, Podere della Bruciata is a reference point: authentic Sangiovese, small production, and respect for natural rhythms. A place to truly understand terroir, vintage, and wine identity.

Podere della Bruciata – Montepulciano’s Heroic Hillside

Podere della Bruciata sits in the hills around Montepulciano, one of Tuscany’s historic strongholds of Sangiovese. For us, this is not just another producer; it is a reference point, a living classroom, and the emotional birthplace of our Wine Club.

From this estate we draw wines such as: Rosso di Montepulciano and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, expressions of Sangiovese with depth, energy, and clarity. Special selections from older vines and unique parcels that show how complex and nuanced this territory can be

Podere della Bruciata is the essence of what we call artisan heroism: small production, hands in the soil, fermentations that respect natural rhythms, and a commitment to keeping vineyards alive in an era when industrial planting and early mechanization would be easier.

For our members, this estate becomes a “base camp” of understanding: how does honest Sangiovese taste like when it has not been shaped to please a global market? How does one hillside, one exposure, one vintage change the wine in the glass? Why is Montepulciano not just a name, but a living landscape?

In Val di Chiana, Tenuta di Torriolo is both a laboratory and a historic estate: experimentation on Sangiovese and blends, continuous evolution without losing identity, rooted in agricultural history and sharecropping culture.

Tenuta di Torriolo & ARGO VINI 1865 – Val di Chiana Re-Imagined

If Podere della Bruciata is our anchor in Montepulciano, Tenuta di Torriolo under the ARGO VINI 1865 project is our laboratory in the Val di Chiana. Here, the focus is on: Sangiovese interpreted in multiple ways—from pure territorial reds to more structured, age-worthy cuvées, SuperTuscan-style blends where international grapes meet Tuscan soil, always with an artisanal mindset.

For us, Tenuta di Torriolo is not a marketing label. It is a working estate – centuries old – where we can experiment, refine, and demonstrate how a truly territorial wine project can evolve over time, without losing its soul. From Mezzadria (up to the 60s about 25 share-cropping families were part of this 350 acres property of a noble family.

From Tuscany, the journey expands across Italy: Sangiovese, Vermentino, Nebbiolo, rare varieties, and volcanic territories. Each box explores diversity, traditions, and micro-territories in a coherent narrative.

From Two Estates to a Map of Italy

Starting from these Tuscan foundations, the Artisan Heroique Italia Wine Club gradually extends its reach to the rest of the country. Our box roadmap will allow members to travel through:

  • Sangiovese in all its forms – from Carmignano to Montalcino, from Val di Chiana to the coastal hills
  • Vermentino from coast to coast – Elba, Bolgheri, Lunigiana, Liguria, Lazio, Sardinia, and beyond
  • Nebbiolo in all its northern identities – Barolo, Barbaresco, Carema, Gattinara, Picotener in Val d’Aosta, and Valtellina
  • Northern whites and orange wines – Friulano, Ribolla, Pinot Grigio macerated, Timorasso, Lugana, Trentino and Alto Adige whites
  • Forgotten and rare varieties – Pugnitello, Foglia Tonda, Barsaglina, Scimiscià, ancient Trebbiano and Malvasia, and many more
  • Rosé as resistance – rosati from Marche, Abruzzo, Cortona, Chianti, Montepulciano, and coastal Tuscany
  • Volcanic and southern expressions – Etna reds, Sicilian Grillo, Nerello Mascalese, and the warmth of Campania and Puglia
  • Old vines and special allocations – parcels over 50 years old, experimental amphora wines, single-barrel selections, and limited releases selected specifically for the club

Each box is a chapter of one long story: we begin in Tuscany because it is home, but we refuse to stop there.

From Tuscany, the journey expands across Italy: Sangiovese, Vermentino, Nebbiolo, rare varieties, and volcanic territories. Each box explores diversity, traditions, and micro-territories in a coherent narrative.

How Members Will Experience This Journey

Our vision is not to send anonymous boxes with generic tasting notes. Instead, we are designing an experiential path: Curated boxes built around a theme (grape, region, style, or “forgotten variety”), Maps, producer profiles, and narratives that explain why each wine was chosen, Occasional verticals or comparisons (for example, Sangiovese from different soils in the same year) …
